Onaway’s 4th of July Festivities

Onaway is celebrating Independence Day with a full week of hometown fun, community traditions, and patriotic pride. Festivities begin Wednesday, July 1, with an Honor and Remembrance Candlelight Vigil and continue through Sunday, July 5, with activities for all ages.

The week includes a homemade pie-baking contest, bingo, karaoke, Kids’ Day at Maxon Field, fireworks at the Onaway Speedway, a 5K walk/run, ice cream social, VFW barbecue, firefighter water fight, and the annual Rubber Duck Race on the Oqueoc River.

The celebration’s centerpiece is “The Greatest 4th in the North” on Saturday, July 4. This year’s theme, “250 Years of Freedom,” honors the veterans who have helped keep our country free. The parade begins at noon, followed by more food, fun, and favorite Onaway traditions.

Gather the family and join our neighbors in Onaway for five days of celebration, remembrance, and small-town Fourth of July fun.
